I was browsing books to read on kindle unlimited. This one stood out to me. I love reading books about the end of the world. This one intrigued me.
This book follows a man named Desmond. He is your typical rich guy who wants to save the world. He wakes up in a hotel in Berlin with no memory of who he is. He finds a dead body. As he escapes and starts to regain his memories.
On the other side of the world Peyton a CDC doctor is being sent to a remote part of Africa. There is a possible Ebola or Marbug virus outbreak. She starts to put together a team to take with her to fight this outbreak.
Slowly Desmond starts to find his way to Peyton and the truth of the outbreak. They have a past together.
This book is starts out hot right away. It draws you in from page one. They author have a very cohesive plot. Everything ties in together, even when you do not think it will. This story spans decades of research.
The character development is amazing. I love Desmond becoming who he is and understanding why he knows things. I also love how willing Peyton is to forgive him and allow him back into her life.
Overall I think this was a very well written book. I would recommend it to anyone who likes science fiction novels. I would also recommend it to people who enjoyed works by Mira Grant and Chris Weitz.
