This book really intrigued me. I enjoy horror novels very much. A mysterious disease is spreading across America. The infected are violent and paranoid. The lead of the book is an ex-football star Perry Dawson, who finds himself infected. Soon Perry is like all the other infected paranoid, hearing voices and violent. He always had a violent streak so this is not new to him. He does fight back in a way that we do not see with the others who are infected.
I loved listening to it. The whole premise of the story was fresh. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star rating is because the character development was lacking in my opinion. There was a lot more Scott could have done. I felt that relating to the characters was hard.
Perry was very hard for me to relate to. He felt very unreal. I feel that a person of his average intelligence would be smart enough to battle the triangles they way he did. The way he butchered his best friend was also very unrealistic to me. It did not match the way Perry was fighting back at the infection.
Overall if you can look past the lack of good character development the story is very good. I did enjoy the plot and am looking forward to the next novel in this series.
